This course will increase your understanding of learning, uplift your teaching skills and help you craft your course for the best outcomes of your learners. The 4 modules intend to help gain a more in depth understanding of the learner, learning outcomes, assessment and feedback, and instructional design. This will enable learners to choose appropriate strategies to foster their own learning and enable teachers to design their course by choosing appropriate strategies to foster learning. Example of technology tools that can be used for instructional design and assessment are provided.

The 4 modules consist of:

  • Module 1. How do learners learn?
  • Module 2. Intended learning outcomes
  • Module 3. Assessment and feedback
  • Module 4. Instructional design
  • Module 2. Intended learning outcomes

    This module intends to help gain a more in depth understanding of what learning outcomes are and how to choose appropriate learning outcomes for successful learning.

    Learners will be able to gain appreciation of:

  • Competency/ Outcome-Based Education: what and why
  • Competency Frameworks
  • Bloom’s Taxonomy and different levels of learning
  • Constructive Alignment and how to use learning outcomes for successful learning
